Tech Maximus is looking for a WordPress Developer to build and customize websites for our clients. You will take work from brief through launch: themes, plugins, Elementor layouts, and the responsive behavior of every page you ship.
The work covers complete WordPress sites as well as existing ones that need changes — theme and plugin work, custom development, page builder layouts, and the fixes that keep a site fast and reliable after launch. You will work with the project team and the client's feedback, and hand over what you build in a state the next person can pick up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and customize WordPress websites from client briefs through to launch.
- Build and adjust Elementor layouts so pages match the design and stay easy for clients to edit.
- Customize and extend themes and plugins, and carry out updates on existing WordPress sites.
- Write clean, responsive front-end code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that works across browsers and devices.
- Improve page speed and loading behavior as part of every build.
- Investigate and fix bugs on live sites, and support projects after launch.
- Work with the team on scope, estimates, and revisions, and keep your work moving to schedule.
- Document what you build so handovers — internal or to the client — are straightforward.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Solid working knowledge of WordPress, including how themes and plugins are structured.
- Comfortable writing and reading PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with Elementor or a similar page builder.
- Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser behavior.
- Familiarity with WooCommerce or other e-commerce builds is a plus.
- Care for performance: image, code, and caching fundamentals.
- Able to read a brief, ask the right questions, and deliver what was agreed.
- Clear written communication for updates, revision notes, and handovers.
- Links to WordPress sites you have built — a portfolio or live client work.
